Emily

I know it's been a really long time since my last post but luckily it has not been long since I last exercised! Just wanted to post that I went on a 25-30 min power walk Monday-Friday of last week! I go around our neighborhood because there are lots of hills, which makes it a lot better workout. Also, Stephen and I weeded for an hour or maybe an hour and a half on Saturday, so that was good too. Keep posting everyone and keep up the good work!

Julie

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I've been on here. I've been working out in the mornings but just haven't posted. But since Sunday night I have been sick and am still pretty miserable from that, so I havent' done anything since then. As soon as I feel up to it I will though! Hope you all are doing well:) Look forward to seeing you soon!

Thanks for the recipe Emily, I want to try it soon! So yesterday I went on a really fun run with my friend Mary. We went "trail running" nothing fancy, just running but on a trail, haha. What I loved about it was it was constantly up and down  and you also had to always be paying attention to where you ran, so it was not boring at all. It was a good challenge too, cause of all the uphill. I want to take Chance next because I think he'd enjoy this more than regular running, which he thinks is boring :)

Hi guys!

I just got done doing my pilates tape. I really really love that one because it's not only floor pilates but they incorporate pilates into an aerobic first half, which is ballet ish moves as well. So you get aerobic and regular pilates. If you are interested I found it on amazon for really cheap...http://www.amazon.com/Crunch-Burning-Pilates-Ellen-Barrett/dp/B00009V7QF/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1311612013&sr=1-1

I know that's a really long website but just copy and paste :)

Also, here is a really good salad recipe I found in a magazine. We loved it and have already made it twice.

BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad

1 can corn
1tsp oil
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1lb)
salt and pepper
1 Tbsp barbecue sauce
2 limes (or lime juice)
1/4 cup light ranch dressing (I used regular)
1 head of romaine lettuce coarsely chopped
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1/2 small jicama peeled and cut into small chunks (this is a root vegetable that's tan and round...almost like a strange looking potato :)
1 can black beans
1 ripe tomato chopped
shredded mozerella
tortilla chips

Cut chicken into strips or chunks and cook on a pan, sprinkle with salt and pepper as you cook. Once the chicken is fully cooked through, brush with BBQ sauce. I usually use more BBQ sauce than it calls for. Cut chicken into smaller chunks if necessary.

Squeeze 1 Tbsp lime juice into small mixing bowl. Wisk ranch into lime dressing. I a large bowl toss lettuce and cilantro with the lime-ranch dressing until evenly coated. Top with jicama, beans, tomato, cheese, chips, and chicken. You may want to drizzle with extra dressing but you don't have to.

Like I said, try it! Its really good and pretty simple.

Love you all :)

It's been a long time...shouldn't a left you, left you. Ha, I don't know why but that song is the first thing that popped into my head right now. It has been a long time since I wrote but not since I exercised! On Saturday I did a longer run with the temple hill in it, and it had been a while since I pushed myself, so that was good. I also ran on Monday and then last night Chance and I did a small run. I'm trying to run at least 3-4 times a week. I even made a laminated exercise chart for Chance and I but I still need to buy a wet erase marker so we haven't used it yet haha. That's about it lately, just running.

Emily

Last night Stephen and I went on this run to a park a little ways above Grandma and Grandpa's house. So it wasn't very far but it was uphill so we got a decent workout. Today I plan on mowing the lawn and picking weeds (for a long time). They grow like crazy here! Miss you all and the get together was so fun last weekend! Mom, Dad, and Julie: hope your drive is good today!
